I can't believe that they would ban such a harmless pet; unlike cats and dogs that often go bush and kill loads of native animals, rabbits are nearly always looked after and kept out of the environment by responsible, loving owners.
If we had a licencing system in QLD and annual or 6 monthly parole style check ins for bunnies (a system like rego and roadworthy tests for cars with automated letters and if the bunny died you'd have to get a vet death certificate stating microchipped bunny 123xyz died) then they'd probably generate some feral bunny fighting money in revenue from fees.
However that clever avenue of thought would have to involve using their brains and the sun must have obviously gone to their heads! Looks like I won't be moving to QLD for a few years yet, if ever; I can't bear to be parted from "Rosey Cheeks" even though I've only had her for 2 weeks.
