Subject: Rabbit died, worried about other one

My family has/had two pet rabbits. We keep them inside 9 months out of the year. The other 3 months we have to keep them outside because my son stays with us and he has asthma. Their pen is in an awesome place. Morning sun and shaded the rest of the rest of the. The area the pen is in never reaches above 70 degrees. We feed them a huge variety of fruits and veggies and different types of grasses. But now we just have on bunny left. We found Ace dead the other morning. There were no signs of illness. He had some shedding. And he moved his litter spot from one area to another. Other than that he had been eating and drinking just fine. Greeted us with a smile every morning. I am worried about Gary now. Could something happen to him. There have been many cases of meningitis and encephilitis reported in our area. Can rabbits get that? We give them apple branches to chew on from our orchard. Could that have hurt him? Their pen is under a buckeye tree but they can't get the buckeyes or the leaves. I know those are poisionous. And clues? Ideas?
