>When you say "normal" does this mean "don't worry about it?" A friend told me it comes from feeding too much lucerne hay and it is a problem. My rabbit has had lucerne hay since the day I got him and has always had the white residue but apart from the problem discussed elsewhere with his ears and toenails, he is happy, healthy and loves his hay. Also, the only pellets I can buy for him are made of lucerne. He has a mix also, with seeds, fruits and nuts, which he isn't too fussed over, except for the fruits and nuts, which he loves. He also eats carrots, sometimes celery, and occasionally goes outside for a nibble on the grass but not more than once a week. Should I be giving him anything else? I saw somewhere earlier that the mix may not be too good for him, but at the moment I am most curious about the calcium residue and what it means.

Thanks,

Sue
