Subject: chewing foot -- Netherlands dwarf

Our 9 yr. old Netherlands dwarf had e. cuniculi (encephalitazoom C) which left her with a slight head tilt and some hind leg paralysis. She lays sideways in the back and forward in front. She hops with her front legs and the back just scoots along, but she gets around in her room which has puppy pads and as much artificial sheepskin as we've been able to accumulate.

She chews one of her hind feet consistently until it is bloody.

She will NOT chew her chew toys we have gotten her. She chewed one basket that I had on the floor so I started putting her hay in it; now she's not interested in hay or the basket.

The only "toy" she pays attention to is her hedgehog, which she grooms and NEVER chews.

This morning I bandaged her foot with gauze and stick-to-itself adhesive bandage and covered the foot with foul smelling stuff -- all left over from what our vet gave us when our cat had a foot problem. She scooted across the room and the bandage scooted off a few minutes later. I put another one on, but don't know how long it will last.

Any ideas?
