Subject: 2 y.o. Dutch bunny and a month old puppy?

I've had my bunny (Charlie) for about 2 years. He's rather mellow and loves to just lounge around the house. He's dance around our feet when we get home from work or race us around the loving room. My uncle gave my brother a 1 month old Maltese puppy for his birthday. When we brought the puppy (Nikki) home, Charlie bolted behind the couch and stomped several times. For about an hour, he would peek out and get within 2 feet of the puppy then run away stomping. He's happy now that he's back in his cage, upstairs and away from Nikki. Any suggestions on the best way to get these two to be friends? I dont want my bunny to have to live in fear, but at the same time to poor puppy is too young to really train for obedience. PLEASE HELP!
