Subject: should i clip the Bunsters nails ?

should i clip my buns nails ? hes free roaming and so he gets to do a fair bit of digging outside in the garden. he doesnt dig at the carpet inside the house but are his nails meant to be kept a little shorter for his comfort ? i am also starting to pick the little beggar up just a little everyday but he still doesnt like it. he does calm down a bit after i pet him awhile so maybe after time he will get used to it. so, if i am supposed to clip his nails can i use human nail clippers ? and is laying them on their back in your lap the best way ? and how short do you cut em ? thanks for any help.
