Hi Amber

You're bun sounds like he's fairly active, so you may find that he needs more stimulation than he's getting. Try giving him toys to rip and dig. A few cardboard boxes work great... use your imagination and make them interesting for him.. use tape to hold them together and cut windows and doors that he can enlarge. You'll be surprised at how much fun he'll get out of it (and you too!).

You can also use old towels for him to bunch up, old toilet rolls and small plastic bottles to toss around, untreated cane baskets to chew and throw.. even hard plastic baby toys with a bell are enjoyed.

Re the kicking and fighting.. this is going to take some time and patience. Most buns don't like being handled too much as it's very frightening for them. When your bun is out and about, try sitting in the same room as him. Don't pay him too much attention, let him get used to you being around. Before long he'll be climbing up and investigating you. Don't rush things, let the trust build. He may never be happy with you picking him up.. one of my buns fights like anything as soon as she knows I'm about to put her down... but hopefully he won't do as much damage. Remember when you handle him, do so firmly and surely. He will know if you're nervous and that will make him worse. Wear long sleeves and even gloves if you have to so you're protected and not so jittery about getting hurt.
