Hi,
You may need to contact AQIS and/or the Australian Customs service.
I could not find any regulations banning pet bunnies coming into Australia
on line so I guess they may let you quarantined your rabbit somewhere.
(Even at home). Let me know how you go on this issue and if you want help
email me and I will enquire on your behalf. Rabbits can be a little tricky to
deal with re the authorities here but we have all States allowing the keeping of
pet rabbits except Queensland where pet rabbits are illegal (although they are
the most popular illegal pet in Qld and I believe there is a fine of $3000 for
being caught with a pet rabbit in Qld. They are really backward in that State,
it is a bit of an embarrasment really). See the following contact details

Phone (couldnt find the phone number on the Australian Quarantine and
Inspection Service website - try phoning the international
operator and asking for their number for their Canberra head office - if you cant get it
let me know and I'll get the phone number for you. Tell them you need to discuss regulations and permits concerning the importation of pets).
