Hi

Bunnies aren't especially keen to be on their back, so you'll need to be a little tricky. Sit down somewhere so that your knees can support him when he's on his back. Hold him against you so his tummy is against your chest. Support the back of his neck and butt with your hands and slowly lean forward until he's laying on your lap. He should 'trance' out once he's on his back, but if not I find a few strokes along his nose will help. Once he's relaxed sit up slowly, making sure he's safe and supported. Now you should have one tranced bun. I find this a more pleasant way to check teeth and nails. Remember to support him at all times as some buns won't stay out for long and will fight and twist when they come too.

Too pick him up, just reverse the procedure.. ie lean forward, support him and slowly sit up with him against you.

Melony
