++Hi,
How old is the new rabbit? Was he taken away from his
mother too early (in this case he may not survive because
very young rabbits are still drinking their mothers milk
and eating). If he is over 6 weeks old and was eating OK
before you bought him, he could be having trouble re-adjusting to his new home. Try giving him some grated carrot,
a piece of apple (pips removed), a little piece of celery,
or some long grass from the garden. Avoid giving lettuce
(especially the iceberg round shaped lettuce) but a leaf
of the dearer exotic lettuce is OK and avoid cabbage.
If he is not passing droppings you may have a problem
and you may need to see the vet.
Try mixing the pellets with some rabbit mix 50/50
and see if this encourages him to eat and make sure
the pellets you have are stored in a safe dry container
away from mice and are fresh.
Keep him out of the heat and out of the cold and make
sure there are no signs of illness.
Good luck and let us know how he is progressing.
Kind regards,
Marguerite
