Hi,

I think the correct name is wondering jew? Anyway,
I know the plant you mean and it has thick fleshy leaves and seems to be a succulent type creeper.
I'm not sure if that plant is good for bunnies.
Kikuyu is not good for bunnies either but most grass
is OK. I know thistles are OK and dandelions
also. As a rule, plants with milky white sap are poisonous and I would be careful about what bunny eats.

Does anyone know what plants
>a rabbit can and can't eat? will a rabbit know which
>plants not to eat or do I need to keep her away from
>them? regards cat.

I don't know if a rabbit knows instinctively
what to eat or not but I have often wondered this myself. However, considering the rabbit
is an introduced animal and out weeds and plants are
often introduced as well, I would tend to err on the side of caution. Rabbits will eat unsprayed rose petals (this is
ok) and I have heard of rabbits eating mulberry leaves and bamboo shoots. Someone posted on the board a while back their rabbit was eating aloe vera and someone else said this was not healthy for rabbits to eat. So I guess one has to be careful.

Re hutch design, all I can think of is making a mobile dog and cat proof run but also make it escape proof digging wise (so bunny cant dig her/his way out). Also remember Myxomatosis and RHD if you are going to have your rabbit running around outside. Myxo is a deadly disease of rabbits
with no cure mainly carried by mosquitoes and the disease kills thousands of pet rabbits Australia wide each year. There is a vaccine for Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (misnamed
Rabbit Calicivirus by Australian authorities). The RHD
vaccine is an annual one.RHD is carried by "biting and sucking insects" and can travel on clothing and inanimate
objects. There is no legal vaccine for bunnies against Myxomatosis allowed in Australia.

Perhaps you might consider a flywired aviary for your bunny but dont leave bunnyout when its too hot as rabbits cannot
perspire and may die of heat stroke.

Kind regards,

Marguerite
