Chapter 6 Words: 1000

Scurvy

When Ann flipped open her invisible medical book, the book opened to the disease “scurvy’. I assumed that everybody knew that scurvy was a disease marked by inanition (exhaustion), debility (weakness), anemia (red blood cells), and edema (watery fluid in cells) of the dependent parts. The lack of vitamin C produced a spongy condition, sometimes with ulceration (an invitation to infection), of the gums and hemorrhages into the skin and from the mucous membranes. The disease was also due to a monotonous diet of salty meats.

The disease description was short. The complete page showed a human figure with the disease. Vitamin C was something that the body took in and distributed by way of the blood. Scurvy wouldn’t show up in the blood as scurvy. It would show up in a Vitamin C blood test. I found it strange that neither of my medical dictionaries listed Vitamin C. So, I’ll use Vitamin A as an example. The suggested range is 20-80 /100ml. The suggested range would be too great to be called personalized. I was looking for a center figure when a hematologist called it a “mean”. The patient’s personal number within the 20-80 ranges would be 50 in the patient’s personal bible. Then when and if the blood test figure increased or decreased, it would be noticeable.

A century ago, blood was known as the vessel that carried nutrients to the flesh (tissue). All cell life feed on some kind of nutrient. There were bacteria that consumed iron, cholesterol, etc. Some bacteria will take months to grow. I found it strange that some hospitals used the electron microscope on tissue only, and not on the blood.

I had made a list of the various blood tests and established my personal figure.

It was obvious that the 1982-83 Michigan hematologist had lied about blood tests. The Michigan hematologist had used Special Checked blood for blood transfusions instead of using antitumor antibiotics to treat a neck tumor. I believed that an evil doctor was a medical terrorist that could kill more people by bad medicine (and medical lies) than anyone with bombs or bullets.

Complaints to the Health Department fell upon deaf ears and employing an attorney was impossible, so I tried the old cliché “You lie, you die. The Truth Machine will turn you into Mice Meat Pie”. Remember when we were kids and were taught that lies were bad? Well maybe not everybody was taught that.

I had found the best way to detect a Medical Terrorist was to ask questions about blood tests. The evildoers would say, “Blood means nothing!”
