The Walkover

Chapter 22

Bill had left the hospital with bedsores.



Bill’s heart surgery was on July 9, 1996. Several times, exercise was mentioned. When Bill was gotten up, he was dropped. Several stitches had blood seeping and the surgery had to re-heal. A therapist had entered Bill’s room to tell Bill about physical therapy, yet again he was left with no exercise. Sores had begun to appear on Bill’s butt. One nurse told me that if I ran to the drug store for ointment, Bill’s sores would probably be treated quicker.

One hallucination that Bill had, he told Stacy that they strapped him up at night and filled him with drugs. Stacy tried to patronize Bill by saying, “So. Her dad scolded. So, she added: “Sounds good to me.”

About 3 a.m. one morning, I entered Bill’s room. He was in a straightjacket. I was shocked to see that he was strapped. The heart monitor was in the room. I watched it, and could see the irregular heart beat. The next day the monitor was removed from the room.
