Subject: Fernando Montiel v Hussein Hussein

"Fernando Montiel (21-0-1, 16 KO's) journeyed overseas for the first defense of his World Boxing Organization fly title and scored a 7th-round TKO of former amateur star Zoltan Lunka (20-2,) last month in Germany. The hard-hitting Mexican had just turned 21 a few weeks earlier and not only was this his European debut, but also his first time ever fighting outside Mexico. Fernando is the younger brother of former world title challenger Alejandro Montiel (45-3, 26 KO's), a world class veteran. He was only 17 when he made his pro debut on December 1996 and won his first 11 bouts by KO before scoring a convincing 10-round decision over two-time world title contender Javier Vazquez in June 1998. Late the following month Montiel was held to a 10-round draw by tough veteran Pulino Villalobos, but he avenged that by winning a 10-round decision that October. He continued to develop on the talent-loaded Mexican circuit in 1999, garnering some valuable learning experiences with 10-round decisions over former Mexican champs José Alonso [in January] and Sergio Millan [that December]. After his 4th round TKO of normally durable veteran Cruz Carbajal last April; Fernando was out of action for eight months, easily the longest layoff of his pro career. He came back by taking a huge step up in class last December, surprising most everyone with his dominant 7th-round stoppage of Isidro García (21-2-1, 6 KO's) to win the W.B.O. title and make his arrival on the world scene in a dramatic fashion. Not a traditional Mexican slugger, Montiel is a boxer-puncher in the Ricardo Lopez mold and had no major problems with slick-boxing former Olympic bronze medallist Lunka, who was fighting in his adopted homeland. Now 21-0-1, the still-improving Montiel would be a compelling matchup with unbeaten W.B.A. champ Eric Morel and could eventually win major world titles in several weight classes..."

Well, if this discription is accurate hussein maybe in for a long night. Gee they are comparing him Eric Morel, which means he is no thai cabdriver Fenech likes to bring out for his charges.

Could this be another Fenech fighter getting KO'd overseas??

Time will tell.
