Subject: Hartsible Livingston

Hoping that someone may 'recognize' the area in which a given name of Hartsible may be found in Scotland of 1860's?? All I know of my g-grandfather is that he is listed in very clear and legible script on my grandfather's birth certificate as "Hartsible Livingston born June 1863 in Scotland". Found him in the 1900 US federal census listed as Herbert. After countless hours on Ancestry.com and Googling I have never found the name Harstsible...ever. My grandfather always referred to him as Hart so I can only assume the Hartsible is the given name not Herbert. I know that since they met and married in the states there is no guarantee he is at all from the same place BUT he did marry Barbara Allison of Sorbie, Wigtownshire.....

Willing to chase any possible leads!!! Thank You.
Suz
