Afraid I can't help you there, but I am descended from a Welsh Watkins by the name of Michael Watkins, who was born in 1794, married twice, first to Elizabeth White then to Jane Staight Lambert. Their son, Michael, was a Confederate soldier with the 60th Alabama Reg't. and their daughter Amelia married Sully Frances Guenveur, who are my great-great grandparents on my maternal grandfather's side.

I don't know what part of Wales Michael came from. That's in the Watkins Family Bible, currently in the hands of my cousin Terry Harper.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Try posting to Ancestry.com or Genealogy.com. You might get more response there! They're very helpful and you usually get good responses. Through them, I was able to get in contact with my GGGGgrandfather Burnell's family still living in Holyhead, Wales. So give them a try, and best of luck to you!
