Petaling Jaya: Malaysians will have a chance to be "up close and personal" with the cast of 'So Close' like Shu Qi, Zhao Wei, Karen Mok and Seoung-Heon Song at the Genting Highlands Resort on Sept 3, two days before the movie hits the local cinema.

All the cast members and director Cory Yuen will be at the hill resort for the movie premiere and a series of events for their fans.

The five main actors will also have a special meet-the-fans session scheduled at 6pm at the Genting International Convention Centre (GICC).

Although the movie, distributed by Buena Vista Columbia TriStar, will hit the cinemas on Sept 5, at least 2,500 lucky Malaysians will get the opportunity to watch the movie two days prior to its worldwide release along with its cast here.

Free passes will be available via a contest and redemption scheme running from Aug 27 onwards in all the major Chinese newspapers and radio and TV stations, namely Nan-Yang, Sin Chew Daily, China Press, Guangming, Kwong Wah, the eGenting website, Celcom, MyFM radio and ntv7.

Those with passes will also get free drinks and can enter games and lucky draws, as well as witness "the making of the movie," the trailer and its soundtrack during the session.

The first 1,000 fans to register will receive a limited edition "lenticular" card (a hologram card) of the artistes as door gifts, while 300 free movie tickets for the movie premiere at the First World Cineplex will be up for grabs through contests by MyFM radio and eGenting.

Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd, a co-sponsor of this movie, will also give away 1,000 movie tickets for a midnight movie preview on the same day to dealers and Celcom customers who win the Celcom SMS Challenge- So Close Contest.

So Close tells the story of two brothers, Chow Nunn and Chow Lui, who owns a giant computer company which is facing a crisis because a powerful computer virus is rapidly wiping out their computer network.

At the last minute, a cyber-friend arrives to join the battle. The mysterious "Angel.com" battles the virus and saves the company.

The movie is scripted by Jeff Lau, a top Hong Kong director and one of the most highly-regarded scriptwriters.

The film's director and action choreographer, Yuen, was the man behind Hong Kong classics like Once Upon A Time In China, Yes Madam and Fong Sai Yuk
