that is why you should never allow a judge to give a plus when they are using the point system. if they do allow a plus them the plus should count as .5 or 1/2 point. sounds like someone needs to get it together with this among other things like people being in the wrong age divisions. sounds like there needs to be some checking into this.that is why you should never allow a judge to give a plus when they are using the point system. if they do allow a plus them the plus should count as .5 or 1/2 point. sounds like someone needs to get it together with this among other things like people being in the wrong age divisions. sounds like there needs to be some checking into this.that is why you should never allow a judge to give a plus when they are using the point system. if they do allow a plus them the plus should count as .5 or 1/2 point. sounds like someone needs to get it together with this among other things like people being in the wrong age divisions. sounds like there needs to be some checking into this.that is why you should never allow a judge to give a plus when they are using the point system. if they do allow a plus them the plus should count as .5 or 1/2 point. sounds like someone needs to get it together with this among other things like people being in the wrong age divisions. sounds like there needs to be some checking into this.that is why you should never allow a judge to give a plus when they are using the point system. if they do allow a plus them the plus should count as .5 or 1/2 point. sounds like someone needs to get it together with this among other things like people being in the wrong age divisions. sounds like there needs to be some checking into this.

In this case, letting a plus equal .5 or 1/2 point mathematically makes NO sense! These judges used tenths (9.1,9.2,9.3 etc) in their scoring. When this is done, then scores will be seperated by tenths of points. If each + equaled .5, then you would be adding 5!!! tenths of a point for each plus. That would be like adding 5 points if you were using whole numbers (1,2,3...) That is ludicrous! Plus signs could be a tool to misinterpret scores... They should be AVOIDED!!!

The point is that the judge DID give a plus and in all pageant systems a plus is 5 tenths of a point. So in other words the directors, in your opinion should disregard the score that a judge gave to please you. What if every director disregared the scores of the judges, then we would have no need for judges just let the directors pick the winners, and this is what a lot of you come on here complaining about, now you want a director to pick the winner, just so your favorite will win. BULLS***

If the judges had wanted the child with the plus signs to win, then her scores would have reflected that.

So, the following scores : 9.7+, 9.7+, 9.7+, which equals 29.1 without the pluses and 30.6 (29.1 + .5 + .5 +.5 = 30.6) with the pluses, should beat perfect 10's with no pluses (a total of 30)? Ooookay....
I have spoken to various people and there seems to be a few occasions when pluses are used in scoring and on these occasions, most of the time, they are used to break ties only. Which is what they were used for at this pageant.
