I read the book. For years I couldn't watch the movie, for fear I wouldn't be able to get through it.

Fifth grade graduation: my older daughter's class sang the song. Bawled my eyes out. I still do whenever I hear it. I made her sit through the movie with me. We cried together.

One movie I still can't watch again is the Dolly Parton/Julia Roberts/Sally Field (why is this memory fading when I'm only 47?) Anyway... the scene when Sally Field is crying after Julia dies... I can't make it through that one. :-\
