After watching a current Formula 3 race at Castle Combe in 2002 where all the competitors used radial tyres, it has made me opt in favour of crossply tyres for the ARP F3 championship. Since at the Formula 3 meeting that I watched there was hardly any overtaking manoeuvres. Using radial tyres the current Formula three cars have so much grip on the track, and after also seeing the first ARP race of 2 at Castle Combe towards the end of last year, using Crossply tyres provided so much overtaking up and down the grid. I have been told that this was a fantastic race for the spectators to watch, not a 'train like' race as the one I saw watching current F3 at Combe. And this is not to take away from current F3, but the more there is for the spectators and drivers to see/ do on the track the better it will be for the ARP F3 championship, So I am now a backer of Crossply tyres in ARP F3, just thought that I'd now mention this.
