It is clear that BMTR are unlikely to give us good advice on the issue of tyres. They have a vested interest in us continuing to buy out dated and expensive cross ply tyres.

Almost all the cars in the championship were actually designed to run on radials. They are freely available and over a season unlikely to cost significantly more than the cross plies we are forced to use at the moment.

Changing to radials will mean the cars perform a little nearer to their best and should bring lap times down to something more representative of the formula (even for me).

It seems likely that the ratio of Class A to Class B will continue to shift towards A next season and if we are to continue to try to project the formula as the top class of clubman's single seaters, we will need to encourage more and more A class cars to turn out.

The A Class cars are already significantly handicapped by the reduced inlet restrictor and for the good of the future of the formula we should allow the cars to catch up with current best practice by moving over to the modern radial specification and by so doing encourage the best of clubman single seater racers to want to join us.

If as I was led to believe this formula is run for and by the drivers then I suggest a simple majority vote should be allowed to decide this issue. This should be done sooner rather than later to allow some pre-season testing of radials by those who want to do it!!
