Hey there, I'm baaaack! We had no power here from 11:45 a.m. on Thursday until now - Sat. So now I'm catching up on posts and email (pant, pant). I live near Raleigh, NC and having been through Hurricane Fran in 1996 everyone here was wondering how Isabel would treat us if it took an inland track.

Turns out it was okay - no damage here. Top winds were 75-80 mph in gusts (not sustained like Fran). Had a lot of limbs down in the yard and blocking the driveway but otherwise okay. Oh and the metal cap on top of the chimney whistled quite a bit during the first part of the storm. The coastal areas hit hard were the Outer Banks and Pamilico Sound inland areas. Whole counties there are wihtout power and underwater. Hatteras island now has a new inlet carved into it, so they are cut off. Atlantic Beach came out with very minor damage.

We were very lucky here! And it's good to be back online with my FMily.

Hugs,
Windblown Tess
