Janva walked in, helping the smaller green Wilth in, where she grabbed up a bucket of the meat, and dumped it out in front of the Dragon, smiling as she watched the dragon devour the food, when her older brother walked up.
"Congratulations, Janva." Kyl'r said, hugging his sister lightly. "What's her name?" He asked her.
"It's Wilth." Janva answered, smiling back. "Is that Kylanth?" She asked, gesturing to the full-grown green not far behind Kyl'r (who was back, controling to urge not to feed at Eastern herself).
Kyl'r nodded. "That's Kylanth. My friend Ary and her Mirth came with us, too..." He said, glancing behind him slightly so that hopefully Janva wouldn't notice the slight blush that spread over his face when he mentioned Ary.
"D'you want to come with me and Wilth back to the barracks?" Janva asked, and when Kyl'r nodded, they both turned, Janva still beside Wilth, on their way back to the barracks.

"You need to be fed again Gormath?" -- Thaia~Gormath, 16:06:19 12/09/01 Sun
~Yes, I am hungry again. Feed me!~ "Alright, alright!" (Hatchings usually last more than one day, don't they?) Thaia grabbed a wherry and deftly skinned it, using the sharp point of the knife to carve some meat off a drumstick. ~Can we play the 'catch' game again?~ Gormath wanted to know. "Sure, catch!" Thaia called, tossing the just-carved meat into the air, and Gormath jumped up, clamping down his small incisors on the meat and rolling around in the dirt, chomping on it and getting the bloody juices all over his body. Thaia finished another wherry or two, and then stepped up, quickly washing her hands, then stood, picking Gormath up. "Uh, Gorrie, you ate way too much." ~Didn't. I just grow fast.~ Thaia laughed. "Let's make our way to the Perches to clean you up."

Hungry -- Arkia & Midorith, 01:54:25 12/09/01 Sun
The young dragonet waits patiently while the girl searches to find food suitable for her to eat. "Ah, a bucket! Of course!" She hauls the pail over, grinning from ear to ear. "Eat up, Midorith!" With unrestrained joy the hatchling dives into the food, mashing and chewing everything she can find.
I'm not sleepy, I want to see the rest of them come out. The dragonet announces, daintily wiping her muzzle with a foreclaw in a very human-like gesture.
"So do I. They all seemed a nice bunch, hmm? My brother went to the barracks, I suppose, but I have to see! Let's go!" She and the green leap eagerly away to the hatching grounds once more.

The pair scampers in... -- K'man & Brunth, 21:29:15 12/06/01 Thu
K'man's eyes are wildly grey, as though rollicking in a storm. His grin spreads fiercley across his face and he nods at Brunth.
I think you're big enough. Not a bronze, but a brown can get a wherrie, too. The dragonet scrabbles after one of the fowls, screeching and baring his teeth in a demonstration of his finest prowess. With a leap and a snarl he springs on one of the animals in a full on flop, his talons leaving huge gashes. The bird cries in wounded dignity, flapping its wings in the puzzled dragonet's face. Angered, Brunth again stalks the now bleeding wherrie, biting it in earnest and snapping it's neck in a blow.
K'man watches with hypnotized fascination. His dreams were coming true before his eyes, this was Brunth, his Brunth. And he belonged to the glorious thing that was eating now. They were each other, and they knew each other, always would. Brunth screeches and leaps, diving on another wherrie with his newly gained skills. The beast tries one tricky dodge too late before he is victim to the hungry newborn. Affectionately K'man itches his brown's eye ridges, marveling at the unbelievable turn of events.

He leaps ahead of his rider eagerly, a wild expression in his faceted eyes. -- Yriu & Arnurth, 08:35:58 12/06/01 Thu
"Food, love?" The woman chuckles happily at the eager nod that nearly sends Arnurth toppling into the sands again. She unsheaths a short hunting and skinning knife, kept under her Canidate's robes at her belt-sheath. Stalking forward, she earns a puzzled glance from the blue as she tackles a squawking wherrie with ungainly human 'grace'.
Is that how you do it? The dragonet cocks his head curiously, trilling a note of uncertainty. Yriu smiles as she finishes the wherrie with merciful quickness, tossing the whole animal to Arnurth for eating. He trills and proceeds to drag the beast about, scattering feathers everywhere before finding a place to eat. Messing his young talons and covering himself in dust and sticky blood feathers, the baby looks to his Rider for approval.
"Very nicely done, Arnurth." She chuckles and watches him with an outpour of love. "Full yet?" He nods eagerly, watching as Yriu thinks out the next step.
"I need to clean you, and then I think we go to the barracks. We'll get you trained and grown yet." Beaming, the young woman heads for the grooming area, eager Arnurth skittering after her.

End of my first message... -- Thaia~Gormath, 22:31:31 12/05/01 Wed
Thaia laughed slightly as she used the knife to carve the meat out of the carcass, every now-and-then tossing pieces to Gormath who was eagerly dodging about, trying to catch them all and miserably failing, falling flat on his face sometimes, other times actually catching the meat.
~What is it Thaia?~ "Oh nothing, I was just thinking that the queen egg certainly didn't hear my plee for it to come out and to me. But I like you much better than a queen, Gormath." ~What? But I heard you talking to me in my head then, Thaia. You told me to come out to you.~ Thaia almost dropped the knife and gasped, her head quickly jerking up. "What Gormath?" ~I said it, you called me!~ "I guess my subconscious was just helping out, Gormath." ~Oh, that explains it.~ "You understand what subconscious means?!" Gormath drew himself up, very miffed. ~Of course I do! Now can you please toss some more meat to me Thaia?~ "Oh...of course..." Thaia was still mentally reeling from the shock that Gormath understood complicated words. Then smiling, with affection visible on every feature, she thought, How could I be surprised? Gormath is the best, most beautiful, intelligent being there is! ~Well, what did you think?~ Giggling slightly, Thaia carved out the last of the meat and tossed it to Gormath.
Noticing Gormath's slight bulge that indicated a full belly, Thaia looked down at her blood-stained hands and quickly walked over to where some helpful person had put a bowl of water, rinsing them clean. Gormath gave a big yawn and started to sway a little. ~Thaia, I'm tired...can we sleep now?~ "Sure Gormath, I'm a bit-" a yawn stopped her mid-sentence. "Time to go to the Weyrling Barracks!" Thaia walked out of the Bowl with Gormath tailing sleepily behind, his tail dragging on the ground...

Suggestively nudging food into her girl's mind, the hatchling delights at the feeding grounds. -- Jumi & Midith, 20:53:09 12/05/01 Wed
"Maybe I'll get you the partially chewed buckets they keep for hatchlings, Midith. Bronzes might be able to hunt, but I don't think you can, and I'm not exactly adept at it, either." So saying, she goes to the corner of the pen, collecting a slightly cooled bucket of remains and masticated wherrie meat. Creeling for joy, Midith gulps and slurps, practically sprawling into the bucket, draining it to the dregs. Rising, her hued eyes center in on Jumi, and she shares the sleepily full thought with the girl.
A wash? Or maybe sleep?
"Oil and wash first, then sleep, love." They make their way steadily to the Perches, speaking in whispers to each other, glad to have found their bond.

The two newly-Impressed walk in... -- Thaia~Gormath, 09:42:55 12/05/01 Wed
~Yes, and I was the second to come out of an egg. You can't beat that!~ "Yes Gormath, now if you don't come here now, I won't feed you!" ~Food?~ the little dragon asked wistfully. ~I'll come for food...~ Grinning, Thaia grabbed a wherry and a knife, skinning the creature and carving out the meat, placing it before Gormath, who devoured it eagerly.
((Gotta go now, we're leaving for school...))

The boy and his eager young bronze enter.... -- R'tor & Zircath, 23:10:46 12/04/01 Tue
Starving! They don't feed you well in that egg. Zircath eyes the surroundings eagerly, his nostrils filling with the scent of wherries and herdbeasts. He tries to clamber towards a large buck, but R'tor holds him back.
"I think a smaller one, for you." He points to a small wherrie, still fuzzy and uncertain. Zircath dashes for it eagerly, downing it with the awkward skill of a baby and mashing it messily. R'tor, far from disgusted, feels the most complete rush of love for his bronze. He grins as he watches Zircath try to take anther down, succeeding in downing a young herdbeast. The hatchling doesn't finish the meal, his stomach full and showing.
Next? He inquires happily, his bright facets centering on his soon to be rider.
"A good oiling, I think. And then we can head to the Weryling barracks. For now, at least. The way you eat, I think growing won't be a worry!" He chuckles and begins to walk, Zircath leaping after him. R'tor is the most wonderful human alive, perfect in every way, comes the thought to the boy from someplace far away, though he can quite easily guess where. He had heard about the Impressing, but never believed. And a bronze, no less! His bronze, his lifemate. Zircath. Beaming, he places a hand on Zircath and walks with him to the Perches.
