R'kan looks at the Weyrlings and their dragons. "I suppose this is all that'll show up, then. May as well get started."

He turns to Sokorth, who takes a step forward. R'kan takes a set of riding straps, and bids the weyrlings to do the same.

"Now, you should all know what these are for. They keep us from falling off when flying, especially if our dragons are prone to turning sharply. Don't be afraid to grab on if you think there's a chance you might fall."

Not that we'll ever let our riders fall, mind you...

"You have to check it over every time you fly. Stretched leather can turn out to be life-threatening."

R'kan attaches the straps to Sokorth, outlining each step as he goes. When the straps are on, he steps back and nods to the weyrlings, asking them to put the straps on their own dragons.

((Meep...that probably didn't make any sense...blame my kitten for keeping me up all night....))
