Enocouraging ain't it? Xanth paid him no heed, instead was nearly bursting with energy,
Come on! It's our turn! Let's go! Let's FLY! J'xom for once was surprised by Xanth's abrupt change but shrugged it off, and instead repeated the Weyrling Master's words to himself and of course Xanth...
Ok, Xanth, Let's give it a go!
With that Xanth lunged upward and in a single downbeat was airborne, another wing beat, he was higher. J'xom could barely contain his excitement, Xanth rose higher... Letting himself glide downward reaching just below the place Lilith had rose up to, as if not to damper her pride. J'xom stared in awe, he and Xanth momentarily speechless as they glided slowly downward,
We're flying! J'xom nearly shouted to his lifemate, who now seemed calm,
Of course. Xanth commented and after what seemed only seconds, commented again,
I won't drop you. J'xom grinned, unsure on what Xanth was talking about, he looked down and his heart caught in his throat, they were so high! Xanth feeling his rider's thoughts agreed,
High isn't it? Where we belong, up here-- J'xom winced,
Better land... Xanth shifted, preparing to descend, though he was reluctant to. Nearing the ledge where Lilith had before landed, he too began backwinging, keeping his feet infront of him, not about to make the same mistake as the first pair had. J'xom braced himself for a rough landing but it never came, before he knew it he was on the ground, Xanth had turned his head to watch, amused,
You can open your eyes. J'xom was quick to reply, I wasn't closing my eyes! Erm... Well.. so I was, but--- Xanth's eyes whirled content,
I would not drop you. J'xom nodded, and as Xanth offered him a leg, he dismounted, feeling proud, and somewhat winded. Giving a shout of triumph, he leaned on Xanth,
We really flew, didn't we? Xanth nodded,
But of course we did, but later we will fly longer. J'xom grinned, and glanced at Rinali and Lilith. Xanth had already begun to speak to Lilith and Sokorth, asking about he had done,
Was I good? Did I do well? J'xom grinned, before speaking, to no one in particular,
" Shards, that was fun."
