J'xom watches the pair land, and shakes his head, turning his stroke Xanth's brown scales, obivously trying to hide his amusment. Xanth looked over at J'xom and followed his gaze,
Why're you staring? I thought it wasn't nice to stare, J'xom.
J'xom winced and quickly looked away, and let his thoughts drift, back to the past...

The water was cold and dark, just like between.
He could not see anything, nor hear anything, and all time seemed to stop.
Air bubbles drift downward toward a horizon of nothing. He was upside down and didn't realize it... He righted himself, and tried to swim, his head throbbed and his lungs burned, and all he could think of was one thing, Betrayed.
Then the water became warmer, more pleasant, he forgot about his life and shut his eyes, only to be pulled from the water...
J'xom shudder, quickly to be reasurred by Xanth. He should have gotten over his fear of water by now. He was a DragonRider, dragonriders were not afriad, 'specially of water. He leaned on Xanth again, shutting his eyes, listening once more.
