I found this web site .First of all we are all part of spirit so you have the skills.You just need to develope them.Spirit loves positive energy and we learn that praying is asking and meditation is listening for spirit .So your first step is learning to meditate .Pray each day and meditate at the same time .A good spirit will not enter unless invited .We have lots of spirits roaming around and they want to interact and make us happy so they are not all that evolved.So in order to find a higher spirit guide you have to make an appointment with them and state your intention so that the spirit can help .Spirits send love and caring so you never need to be afraid! I say the prayer of Jabez; Oh lord that you would bless me indeed ,that you would enlarge my territories, that you would walk with your hand in mine ,that you would keep me from harm ,and that I shall cause no pain.Always ask for the highest good in every situation.Spirit loves that!They dont like negitive energy.Hope this helps!
