• Linking! -- various Kilven, 22:35:13 08/01/04 Sun
  (Brief OOC note: Ladies, I want to thank you all for showing up for this.. and just wanted to note that this was a difficult descision. So just remember that even if you don't Link this time, note that Lyshae likely isn't going anywhere, and her two femme cubs will hopefully grow up to have Litters of their own. Danke schon. Oh, and everyone? Don't mind the brief moments of powerplaying in this.)
  
  As time passes, the massive gold femme is surprised to find herself excited by the sudden gathering of blue-robed candidates that so eagerly flock to meet and possibly Link with her young cubs. Her eyes glow good naturedly, and while protective of her young, she finds herself strangely excited for when that moment does come to be. The occasional visit from Zenthror seems to keep the Gold's spirit up as she waits within the cave, and she offers him a quiet smile upon every appearance within the Den.
  
  However, soon the event comes, earlier than is normal, the fates spurred by the intensity of an event that has not occured for many years. The cubs seem to shine with their own health, and grow quickly... soon wandering away from their mother and her milk to quickly gather the urge to try meat... and the urge to find that special person with whom they will spend the rest of their life.
  
  Lyshae's ears perk suddenly at the first sensation of Linking, a strange feeling of seperation within her gut that seems to gnaw at her previous happiness. However, she takes it to mean that this time it truly will be different, and so with a low rumble, sends a brief message to both Zenthror and the candidates. ~It is time.~
  
  The candidates slowly form a half-circle around the cubs. Wide eyed and ears perked, the balls of fuzz begin to wander cautiously around their container of blue.
  
  The first to choose his lifemate is the black male. Wings flare slightly as he picks up speed, lengthy ears blown back behind him. He lets out a sharp cub-growl as he stalks forward and then springs... only to land directly at Alina's feet. Bright eyes peer upwards to meet the femme's own, and the shining ebon-furred male's voice touches lightly against hers, ~Alina? I am Veranor! I am hungry.~
  
  The next Kilven cub to form his Link is the lithe bronze. A slightly greyish-metallic color tints his fur, but the light in his eyes makes up for the perhaps muted color of his pelt. In a strut suited for nobility the male makes his way over to Oni, and nudges him gently. ~You are my Linked, Oni. I am Ressakor.~
  
  The third cub, the silver with almost a blueish tinge to her glistening hide, takes her time... looking almost overwhelmed by the azure-clad figures surrounding her. Finally, her eyes lock onto her choice, and opening her wings in a dramatic fan behind her, she pads over to Wingdrift, nuzzling against her for a few quiet moments before finally speaking. ~I am Zenlae, your lifemate. I love you.~
  
  The final cub seems to have made her descision while her brothers and sister were in the process of Linking. With deliberate swiftness, the smallish white with fur so pale that some strands seem nearly translucent works her way to Phamiile. Gently she rises up on her back paws to lean against him, her mental-voice touching his mind... ~Phamiile? I am Yukinae. We are one.~
  
  With a soft rumble of farewell, gold Lyshae leans back into her haunches, then down back into a position of rest.
  
  It is done.

• Making an Executive Descision... KILVEN LITTER -- Webmistress / Wild Kilven Female Lyshae, 16:13:12 07/20/04 Tue
  (Congrats Sushi, I took you up on your offer. Zenthror flew a wild Gold female. *snickers* Pretty bold is our blue buddy aint he? Also, to Kain-san/Phammy, you can link with all three species, but only one of each type.)
  
  A low rumble echoes through the massive Den, a furred draconic muzzle suddenly appearing at the entrance. Eyes close, and a brief inhalation is taken, before the Gold-furred steps forward into the darkness. Massive paws tread heavy against the cold stone floor, wings dragging from the exertion of carrying her great body across the planet to reach this place. Despite the yellow tinge of necessity and concern in her gaze, she pauses beside Zenthror, eyes hovering briefly on the white Tokathe he curled so protectively about. Her jaw dropped slightly, and for a brief moment she just watched them, recalling that wonderous feeling that had made her decide to come here in the first place.
  
  This flight had been so unlike the few others she had experienced before, where everything came from necessity to keep the species alive, and nothing came from emotion. With this special blue however, any original displeasure drawn from one of her status and color flying with one of his, was quickly drowned by the sheer aura of love the Kilven gave. Lyshae had only realized after the Flight was over that the blue was Linked. Despite her original departure after mating, which was custom for those Kilven who did not have a lifemate, the Gold had then decided that she would not let any more of her cubs go without this experience of forming such a powerful bond with another living creature.
  
  Shaking her head quietly, she very gently dips her muzzle to nudge the blue in an affection manner that surprises even herself. She was grateful to him for showing her this, though she didn't know exactly how to say it... nor was there time.
  
  Her round stomach contracted painfully, and Lyshae waited no longer. Moving beyond this entrance area she quickly padded back into one of largest rooms in the back, massive claws shredding through old walls and tearing apart insulation and wood. When she had enough soft material, she carefully creates a thick sort of padded nest, and with a low groan falls to her side.
  
  Hours later, and the proud Gold leans her lengthy muzzle over to groom the four cubs that nurse hungrily. Despite the small number, the cubs' colorations are encouraging, as is their size... all the young Kilven are healthy, and will grow to be strong protectors of their planet, and hopefully, their lifemate. In total, the litter consists of a black which is male, a silver, a bronze, and a white which is female.

  ( I /can/ get a Kilven and a PhiaShip, righ'? ** )
  
  Phamiile pushes aside the board, slipping slowly in. The soft clip-clop of trotting hooves can be heard in the cavernous emptiness of the warm den. A chill runs up his spine, and his bushy fur stands on end, giving him a rather strange and floofy appearance, rather than formidable. Round, feline eyes scan into the nooks and crannies with piercing accuracy. In this darkness, he is especially grateful for using the white tiger coin - his most recent shift. Whiskers give a twitch and his shark's sense of smell leads him deeper into the tunnels, following only the musky cinnamon scent of Kilven, and the ineffable smell of Tokathe. He draws close to where Yajer and his Linked slumber, face drooping into a worried frown. Closing the distance between them, the shifter leans carefully down, black, leathery, tentative hands reaching out to lightly touch the white-furred Yajer, curled within the protective mass of his Kilven. Legs are tense and body is poised with feline agility to spring nimbly away from them, should trouble arise - however, his touch is soft as velvet and his face would seem genuinely concerned. Kyrusk's wings ruffle - he is uneasy in this place and remains nestled in Phamiile's warm wings.

  He had once dreamed of being a great PhiaShip pilot. He gave his all to become one. He achieved his dream of earning a 'Ship.
  
  And he relinquished his dream when his Kilven, an "accident" in Linking, grew wan and listless from life in a controlled environment, living on-board the Tokathe's beloved PhiaShip.
  
  Evaka was docked in a nearby field, once-unmarred ebony hull scratched and dented during that last fateful battle with the Rjin and the government. She slept--hibernated, in fact--and waited for the time when her Tokathe would need her again.
  
  A big, once-gawky Kilven slept in a tightly curled ball, ribs showing through thin, ragged pale-sapphire fur and tail draped over his long snout. In fact, he was curled around a small white Tokathe who wore the tattered remains of a silken black-and-green tunic with the faded words, I Love My Phia on the front and a silhouette of a snarling Olde Phia head on the back. Yajer had reverted to times before so much pain had materialized on his beloved planet--he slept in hopes that, one day, he would wake up to Donovan's friendly voice and Kamali's silent presence and all would be right with the world again.

  The dantelope slid through the small opening into the guide den, sighing as she remebered that this place was once a warm, hospitible place where anyone could come. She cursed under her breath as she hit the board with her antler. She looked back to see Kymalae standing guard at the entrance. The kilven turned and tried to enter, but the opening was far too small. The coinshifter glanced outside one last time to make sure no one was watching then carefully slid the board to one side to allow the kilven to enter. Immediatly after the silver furred creature's entry, she quickly slid the heavy board back in place. As she finally looked around the room she shivered, the darkness in this place was different. It used to be dim, but it was different then the thick, grim darkness that now rested in the Den of the Guides. Her home. Her kilven was obviously experiencing the same feelings, and Jeleta lay her hand on the elegant silver neck. "Kamali?" she whispered, not daring to speak up in the unwelcoming darkness surrounding her. She looked around, her blue dragons eyes glowing slightly in the semi-darkness."Kamali?" she repeated, taking of few steps towards the center of the den, "You there?" she asked softly as she fought to steady her shaking soprano. She drew her sword, the metal ringing as it exited the sheath. She did not know where the guides where, or even if they were alive. She suddenly grew very cold. Of course they're aliveshe thought to herself, once again squinting into the darkness that was the back of the den.
