Author: Lifowa, Era, Degeh
Subject: Hehe. XD! Kathas rawk.

"Era! Get back here!" A galloping shadow chases one of sleek russet with flagging speed, and eventually Lifowa slows to a trot, dropping to all sixes and trying to catch her breath. Her brother always had a love for running off without telling her where or why... though he did tend to come back. The black Katha continues a light but comparitively slow gait, resting as much of her weight as possible on her forearms to ease the strain on her fore- and hind-legs. Medium-length mane and tail flowing in loose curls where the silky tendrils aren't plastered to her hot ebony pelt, Lifowa raises her slender muzzle, brilliant sapphire eyes glinting with silent annoyance. After a while of following her reckless sibling's hoofprints, the mare slows to a stop, long ears flattening, and with a toss of her head snorts. "Impudent little whelp." The petite Katha folds her legs under her, laying down in the security of the shadows with her long, spike-lined tail curling around her. He'll return eventually.

Era continues his headlong run, one of the fastest Kathas alive and a superb racer, but his golden eyes sweep from side to side constantly. This stallion is not one to be caught unawares. Soon enough, some smallish predator lunges at the 6.5' red and like a whip, his spiked tail cracks and pierces its organs with the slender, sharp spines lining the powerful length. Era doesn't even break stride as the strange beast crumples in his dust, a hot-breathed snort his only comment to the pitiful attempt on his life. Breathing is slow and even, despite his speed, and the scent that he tracks never wavers, nor does the path laid before him. The beautiful Katha, long, silken, red-gold mane and tail streaming behind him, lowers his upper body to commence galloping with all six powerful yet shapely limbs, equine ears flat and twisted horns gleaming as though ready for a battle. Gold not only glints in his eyes, hooves, horns, and spikes, but arm- and leg-bands of that precious metal sit above all six hooves and golden earrings line both ears. After several silent minutes of headlong run, even the racer begins to feel the strain on his lean muscles, and in an extravagant gesture he tosses his head and warbles loudly, the thin, wavering sound rising above the darkness of the forest and penetrating even the blackest shadows.

Mottled grey ears prick as a third Katha catches the noise, and the stocky beast rises to his hooves, rearing up to trot forward on just four legs. Rough, dappled iron-hued fur roils with the movement of thick, corded muscles underneath the dusty pelt. Matte black keratin [hooves, spikes, and horns] merge seamlessly with the shadows as the grey stalks forward, bullish horns angled to pierce any enemy that might emerge. Instead, a familiar scent wafts past his golden nosering and Degeh pauses, cocking his head. "Era?" he rumbles, before throwing his head back and bugling.

Less than a mile away, a cantering russet streak hears the call and alters his course immediately. Era had recognized Degeh's typical wandering in circles, designed to throw predators or enemy Kathas off his track, and figured the grey was nearby. Within moments the red and grey have been reunited, clashing horns lightly before Era steps back and grins with long fangs. "Lifowa awaits us. Come." Degeh nods, never one for wordy greetings either, and follows with his greatest speed as the racer traces the path back.

Lifowa slips upright the instant she scents her brother, and Degeh's familiar smell brings a pleased look to her sculpted muzzle. Three of the core group of six found. "Brother, Degeh," she greets the two males, bobbing her head lightly. The grey returns a bow but Era taps his antelope-styled horns against her straight, slender, almost blade-like ones. "The others are not in this forest. Let's head out." Era's bluntness is rewarded by a nod from his elegant sibling, and the red leads the way towards... who knows what.
