Basillisk stares at Chimera. "Chimera...I had a feeling you'd leave us someday. I thought you read the notice I first put up, but we are not really doing "bad." I created this group for several reasons, the first is my own personal reason, and the most important one is to give home, shelter, a life, and a family to people who don't have one, or people who don't fit in anywhere else. Stealing is not necessarily bad, it is a way of life. Many people steal for many different reasons, and they are not all "bad" as you say. I don't hold anyones motives against them, but this group does a lot of good too. Many people in this world, are doing other bad things that are far worse. Many of the people of Pern are upset about this and the malcontents or renegades of Pern are here to pay back those people who are doing bad. Look at Ancillo for instance. He had a horrible life as a kitchen druge, little food, bad living conditions, no friends, not even a family. He worked all day and now he is able to be free, to live his own life and make his own desciscions. Do you see what I'm saying? You have a hard time understanding other people, and many people have hard deep complicated lives. I had a feeling that you would be leaving us someday and going to see the rest of the world, moving on. Is that your intention? If so I will do everything I can to help you, but I ask you this. Do not hold the renegades in contempt or anger. They are a good group and will continue to be so as long as there are renegades.
