Hey Kathy,
My apologies for not replying back sooner.
I have been out w/ a strained back from Oct 29th to present.
It was 9 days before I could sit @ my computer long enough to even check e-mail.

But enough of my wimpering. lol

Thank you very much.
We thought the Moreys might have lost there home but the fire fighting gods were w/ them. All is well.
They were up @ Slide Mtn Lookout when they heard the fires had shifted and were heading towards their home. They raced down but were not able to get back up to their cabin for a long time.

On a side note, I was hiking up to Slide on Oct 24th and called in the Piru fire to 911 and then later on when I was up @ Slide, I called the Val Verde fire into Angeles dispatch. From the reports, I spotted the Val Verde about 10 minutes after it started. Whitaker Peak was in the way or I might have been first call.
Have to see about moving that mountain. lol

We had our year end party this past Sunday and I made a statement that we (ANFFLA) might make a trip up to Baker Pt when you and MaryAnn start the restoration process, if you need the help.

I am glad that your "neck of the woods" stayed safe this year.

I do want to come visit other lookouts up there.
One of these times I will even spend a day @ Tobias and help "scrape and paint". MaryAnn has promised to pay me with...Sloppy Joes.

See you up on the Mountain,

Chuck McFate
