Subject: Hope sprung yesterday. Today, it doesn't want to get out of bed.

Name: Roseas (ro-ZAY-ahs)
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Description: Roseas is tall, willowy, and pale, with flaming hair, and usually has a red flush to her cheeks, as though she had been cold for a long time and just stepped into the house. Her eyes are blue, but the ordinarily peaceful color is electrified with constant anger. She usually wears a ragged midnight blue robe now and carries a steel-reinforced scythe, the huge weapon her only possesion of real value.
Personality: Cold and distant to everyone except her last remaining friend, Alina. Those who don't know her and catch a glimpse of her are invariably reminded of a redheaded version of the grim reaper, and usually shudder and move away as fast as possible. To Alina, and anyone else brave enough to befriend her, however, she is kind and her true personality shows through. Roseas is a very brave woman, able to take most blows and comments without flinching.
History: One thing she could not take was the death of her entire village, except herself and Alina, from the invasion and from the subsequent plague. The pair got what they could from the ruins and came to the capitol to work, but you cannot fight off a plague with a scythe and a bow, no matter how well made, and soon, Roseas and Alina fell victim to the great despair that wracked the land just as everyone else. Doesn't mean that if someone wants killing done, these two are not up for it.

Age: 17
Description: In contrast to her last friend, Alina is short and wiry, with deadly accuracy written all over her, even though one of her eyes is blind and covered with a disreputable looking patch, a result of a close encounter with a Rjin. Her hair is black, straight, and staticky, constantly a-crackle, usually in a visible and audible way, another result of her Rjin encounters. She wears a robe similar to Roseas' but hers is black trimmed with red. Her eye is less angry than the other girl's though this may be a deception, as its depths are a black void. The black bow slung over her shoulder, along with her quiver of arrows (which she often electrifies by toughing the metal heads to her hair so that they deliver a painful jolt), and a chiselled bone dagger are the only possessions of value she has.
Personality: Distant also, but less irascible than her flame-headed companion, and easier to approach. Anyone who can make a friend of her has Roseas' respect also. Alina refuses to back down from a fight once she's in it, until her hands are tied behind her back, her legs are bound together, and her mouth is stuffed with cloth so she can't drag herself over to her opponent and bite them.
History: Same as Roseas, but Alina is less scarred by her experiences, as she started off slightly more cynical.
