Subject: "I hope I didn't leave anything out" *Rolls her eyes* I left out an entire other character and species!

Species Description: Inflecto Transpectum
a.k.a. " ITS " ( Its )
sing.: Inflecto Transpectum; plur.: Inflecto Traspecti

Height at Shoulder: Males approx. 8 - 9 inches. Females approx. 7 - 8 inches.
Length of Body: Males approx. 16 - 18 inches. Females approx. 14 - 16 inches.
Length of Tail: Males approx. 15 - 19 inches. Females approx. 13 - 17 inches.
Colouration: Not applicable.
Species Description: Inflecto Transpecti, or Its as they are commonly referred to, are rodents. They have the general anatomy of your basic Earthen Norway/Black/Ship/Wharf rat. There are, of course, some differences though. They have developed a primitive vocal cord, and have a much larger brain. Most Its, if taught, can learn a language. More about that can be found further down though. Its are rather intriguing creatures, because of their appearance -- or perhaps, the lack thereof. These creatures are transparent --- and yet you can still see them. They feel just as they would if they were simply a large rat, but they look as though they were made out of glass --- remember, transparent, not invisible. When looking through an Its, due to how the light reflects and refracts with the contours of their body, what you see appears warped from what it should look like.
Speech: As mentioned, Its have the ability to learn a language. However, this is difficult for most of them (see temperament for reasoning), and when they do learn a language, they have difficulty grasping grammar and.. well, mostly every rule, really, and when they speak, it's quite broken.
Species Temperment:Its seem to have perpetual ADD. With incredibly short attention spans, these creatures are both easily amused and very energetic. They mostly love exploring, traveling, collecting shiny and pretty things, and eating. They will try anything once --- and usually again because they often forget they already did. Needless to say, they're not big thinkers, but, they have their moments, and have a knack for simply solutions. Their short attention span makes it very difficult for them to learn new things (such as languages), and most think it's far too much effort. However, if an Its is seperated from others of its species, its natural love to talk and communicate will usually give them enough drive to learn. You'll never find a solitary Its.
Society and Culture: The Inflecto Transpectum culture is a very primitive one. They can be found almost anywheres, and make colonies in sewer systems, old dens and barrows, junk yards, abandoned buildings, and well, just about anywheres. They have their own language, made up of chitters, squeaks, and body language. They're hardly ever silent. All in all, they're generally quite a happy, pleasent bunch, if a bit excitable and disorganized. Their tribes generally have about have a dozen leaders, made up of the most intelligent tribe members. They don't war with other species or their own kind, their leaders are just there to give some sort of mild order to the lot, not to mention that they, being generally more intelligent than the others, have often learned another language which helps them communicate with other species as representatives. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to fancy having an Its for a pet, and will steal their pups, or even adults.
Names and Words: Translated into common, their names often describe some physical aspect or way of identifying them. An Its with an exceptional long tail would be named something like Long Tail, Double Tail, Twice Long Tail, etc. An Its with a short tail would be called Short Tail, Snip Tail, Tail Too Short, etc. (Or as seen below, Tail Three Too Short). They follow that basic pattern for anything --- missing limbs, deformed limbs, ripped ears, etc... (Examples of those: No Paw, Curve Paw, Half Ear, Three Leg, One Ear, Ear Scrap, etc...) And sometimes, they'll be named by their hobbies. An Its who is particularly fascinated by the stars or sky or clouds, or who loves to dig, or is always traveling, would be called something in relation to that. Of course, sometimes, these don't make immediate sense in common. The closest translations for what Its call some things aren't obvious to what we would call them, and terms vary from tribe to tribe. One example, is the night sky. One example of their term for this, is "Dark Blanket", another is "World cover", and similarly, "the world has its shell closed".... and some of the extremely intellectually challenged individuals think that the sun (big light, etc.) has exploded.
Home Planet: They make their homes on many planets. Original origin is unknown.

Character Description

Name: Tail Three Too Short.
Gender: Male.
Age: Adult.
Description: Height at Shoulder 8.5 inches. Body Length 17 inches. Tail Length 17 inches.
Personality: Tail Three Too Short is pretty much your average Its, though maybe a bit calmer or toned down --- he's fairly intelligent as far as Its go, and has managed to learn Common. He's quite devoted to Mystery Deathsong.
History: His tribe were moving to another planet, stowed away on a transport ship. Unfortunately, one of the crew, completely unaware of the small colony, spotted Tail Three Too Short. Trying to figure out this anomaly, he followed the young creature, eventually cornering and capturing him. Tail Three Too Short was kept as a "pet" of sorts, and ended up being passed around staying with various pilots over a two year period. Despite the fact that he was stolen from his family, he benefited from it, learning Common, and a number of other things that he wouldn't have otherwise. Eventually he fell ended up on an Olyrt (Olashi merchant/trade ship) that Mystery Deathsong frequently did business with. The pilot showed the odd creature to her, and gave him to her as a "gift". Tail Three Too Short went back to Terole with the Dagaan, and has been her constant companion since.
Species: Inflecto Transpectum
