Dear Sir,

No, there will be no problem with Britain over this issue. Anymore than there was a military threat from Britain directed towards Mauritius, when they fired Queen Elizabeth back in 1992, or when Fiji fired her in 1986. Britain simply could not care less what Canada does or does not do as far as the headship of state issue goes. True, in the short run, there may be hard feelings among some older generation english speaking Canadians, but that will likely be the extent of problems with such a move. However, in the long run, I am sure the younger Canadians of all backgrounds will quickly come to take pride in the new Canadian Empire.
