Subject: Need advise - which version of decoder to use ...

Dear ALL.

I'm living in Kazakhstan.
Here we have one cable company. They use SSAVI system. And offer to the customers the old cable boxes. Most often it is Jerrold 5506W.
I have reviewed a lot of info in the Internet, but didn't find anything about this particular cable box.

I would like to get your valuable opinion for this issue.

What we have in our cable:
Color system: SECAM D/K (the standard for our region (CIS,RUSSIA,KAZAKHSTAN), PAL D/K (very seldom)
625 lines at 50 Hz
No audio scrambling.
Active video inversion, sync suppression.

Currently I'm searching which method to use to descramble video.

1. I didn't found any test chip software to "upgrade" my Jerrold 5506W.
2. I'm not sure whether Canton 4.2 with PAL soft, will work normally on SECAM channels. Could anybody comment this or advise me which version is enough to descramble cable channesls.

Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Sergey
