Subject: Boss/ Avenger Cards ripped 3-Chip design?

Hi Guys. I'm new to the 3 chip design, after coming back into descrambler projects. The first one I built was the universal descrambler by Ross Gossblat/W. Sheets and Radio Electronics. I plan to build one of these ingenious designs on my Tocom type system. Anyway, getting back to the subject. I noticed while looking at the "Avenger" and "Boss" series of boards (see pics at http://www.midgetcable.com/shop/avengerboards.html) that the design looks very simular to the 3 Chip models. While I don't know what the chips are, I can clearly see a clock crystal and what looks like a PIC chip on one of these boards.

Did the creators of the Boss and Avenger boards use the 3-chip design and modify them for mass-commerical production? I hope Dave got some credit for this, if they did.

My other question is, which one is the most compatible with Tocom? I have a system with Normal/Inverted Video and 180 color shift every 2-3 minutes.
