I don't see your point. You can only use the 3-chip
if you have a cable-ready tuner, like a modern TV
or VCR. What's the need for a RF modulator then?

Just intercept the video signal that comes from the
tuner in your VCR, connect the 3-chip in the middle,
and then you'll have the VCR's RF output already built-in.
(That also solved the blue-screen problem in my VCR).
That way you get to use the VCR's remote and can even
set it to record some program when you're not home.

You could also install the 3C board inside the TV set.
I have a 29" with PIP, so I'm implanting two boards
in it, one for each tuner.

I use the VCR with a 14" TV and connect the AV inputs,
which gives much better picture quality. But if I wanted
I could use the RF output (channel 3 VHF) instead.
