Rev7T1b should work for Zenith. I'm not sure if the Rev7T1d versions still have that functionality, it might be disabled. So to be sure, use Rev7T1b. If you're going to use a PIC16F84A, the registers will need to be moved higher in memory (beyond $0C) to accomodate it. You MIGHT be able to compile the b version with the parallax.inc file from Rev7T1D2 which has been changed for the '84A, but I'm not sure and too tired to study it at the moment! If you get compile errors when you try it and you know a little about programming PICS, you should be able to tweak the code around it. If you get it working, let us know!

I remember the old Zenith SSAVI system. Many years ago we had a subscription television service on channels 50 and 54 called SuperTV and they used SSAVI. Back then I built a design called FreeView, there was no microcontroller, so it had 38 chips! It worked really well though, provided proper AGC feedback to the tuner and everything. Looks like Zenith's system is still going strong after all these years.

Good Luck,

- Phil
