I have not seen a auto invert boss. Only a auto invert avenger. Do you have pictures?

Most avengers have 7 pins.
Pin 1 is power.
pin 2 is ground.
pin 3 is vid in
pin 4 is vid out
pin 5 switched (inver)
pin 6 not used
pin 7 not used

boss has 5 pins.
Pin 1 power
pin 2 vid out
pin 3 vid in
pin 4 ground
pin 5 switched (inver)

So all you would have to do is switch 2 wires. Pin 2 and Pin 4. Not all boards are the same but this is the most common set up for both boards.
Which Vcr are you using? Some Vcr's use the tv/vcr button to control the invert switch.
