Subject: Problem with colours

Hi all,
I got back the scope so I managed to dig in some troubles I had with 3 chip.
I was complaining about colours, far away from normal on some scrambled channels and almost normal on unscrambled channels. It turns out to be a complex problem, related to AGC and to the way the Canton 3 input amplifier (that I'm using now) works.
The amplifier, depending on input signal level, tends to saturate in certain condition; that 'helps' the burst to diminish its amplitude an causes colours shift. It depends on avarege level of the signal. It doesn't happen on unscarmbled channels, the burst being there way down...
Solution would be to use a higher voltage to power this amplifier (Canton 4, 5). I didn't tested it yet.
All the best to all.
J
