Yes - the connection the the SX was added as an input for the variable delay version of the code.

In my case it was not needed

Go for the 100ohm, there are some variances in the 5508W PCB's & overlays.

No - sounds like its already been attacked. The cap across the 4 pin header is an AGC fix which needs to be removed. Also try to undo any other existing mods before proceeding to eliminate unnecessary frustrations.
