Almost. Looking at the schematic for the Canton 5 design vs Canton 4.2, the PIC port configuration for inverted burst is different, everything else is the same. The problem is that port RB7 is used for the lock LED on the 4.2, while it's used for inverted burst on the 5. It doesn't look like there is a lock LED on the Canton 5 board, I think he ran out of ports.

So, since I defined the port configurations with the lock LED in mind, Rev7T1D2 will always try to invert the burst. To fix it, you need to clear the the high-order bit on PORTB (RB7) in the Parallax.inc file for every mode except inverted burst. Then you need to neuter the separate code that turns on the lock led in the actual asm file and re-assemble.

Does the inverted burst feature not work properly on the 4.2 board and this is why you changed that part of the circuit? The picture seems to get really dark when you go into an inverted burst mode on the 4.2.
