i too am having a similar problem
well i think it is a bandwith problem your having
you have to have a fair understanding of what the specs
of good video are.
this is complicated
remember you are dealing with somewhat of a raw product
when you dump into the computer.
if your computer is under 2 gighz clear sharp reproduction
will be a chalenge.
i sugest you look into a radeon 9600 or 9800 video card
the specs are tight.
7200 rpm hard drive or faster!
and a mother board with a buss speed aproaching 800mhz
also i have played with a dozen or so programs
some show a very clear image while capturing some do not.
some use the resources differently than others.
what i find to be important in the end is how good a burn i get when i burn a disk and what it looks like in the media player on play back
the burning part is another learning curve
there are different quality blank cds and dvds
also the codec that is used in the program has the last word
when it comes to clarity on playback
consulting with the techs at the duplication plants can
clue you in on what possible senarious will produce
the quality you are looking for
also pc magazine is a very good info source
also check with a tech at your local college station
