She was not rattled by the brand of misanthropy he seemed to practice. She knew the invisible, implict creed of the isolationist like the back of her hand. Usually she could draw them out of their self prison, like a butterfly would do nectar. However, being equally asocial herself, she remained seated. Sklyar had little interest and little time for men. They provided mildly entertaining distractions every now and then, but monogamy, committment, was never something she had considered. She could taste it; vanilla, placid, unhurried. She preferred the spicier quality of spontanaety and her own mercurial tendencies.
