Hi Bob, Try www.LetsTalkBirds.com.
I was recently thinking the same thing about my
Cockatiel, Bobby. My Dad brought him home when I was 11, and he was already 1 - 2 yrs old. The previous owner was gonna let him free outside cos he wouldn't talk. My Dad said that the other birds would kill him so he brought him home instead, to save him. I'm 31 in a couple of months n a couple of months (2 mnths 2b precise)so he, Bobby is nearly 21 - 22yrs old. I will say this though, they say feed fresh fruit & veg every day, Bobby's favourite food is toast and has been for the last 20yrs. I not sayng that this is good for him but he has done alright on it, considering they say the average life span is 10 - 12 yrs, 20yrs if yous lucky and in extreme cases they have been known to live to 30. He does of course get other stuff fresh fruit and veg. His favourite though definatley is toast. Also he fancied the dog (a German Shepard) more than anything. He would dance with his wigngs spread in front of her, and land on her all day long if you would let him. Hope you get as much fun from your bird as we do from our Bobby.
Good Luck and best wishes,
Dave.
