Subject: Re: Cocketiel information

Hi
I have two female cocketeils that get on well. One older than the other. The older one is the ore dominant but they do get on, have the odd disagreement but otherwise ok. They use to live with a male that was very timid and i think hen pecked by them both. The following mornong he had died. My general enquiry is that the youngest bird is bold underneath her wings and it looks quite sore. She constantly is grooming and rubbing her head on the toys in her cage. I have been spraying them with a anti-mite and insect spray, however the other hen bird is fine. What is wrong with the one that is loosing her feathers? Is it a molt or other insect? To look at her she does look healthy eating and drinking fine and they do fly out of their cage. You wouldn't think she has feathers missing to look at her, but when she spreads her wings it is very noticeable? Is this normal?
Please reply as i dont know whether to take her to the vets?
