Here's the info that should have been here sooner. Aug. 30 - Sept 2 we will be camping at Iron Creek Campground in sites 28, 29, 30. The weekend will cost $20 payable to my mom.
Driving Instructions: take I-5 north (south for Kristina) to highway 12 (Exit #68 I believe). Drive toward Randle. Then follow the turn-off signs to Mt. St. Helen's on forest road #25. It's about 10 miles or so from the turnoff. The campground is located along the Cispus River.
Activities: Bring your bikes. Burley Mountain Lookout is within range as is Strawberry Mountain Trail. There is supposed to be a neat waterfall in the area as well. Also Windy Ridge is close-by as well. That will cost $3 each (only one site to visit).
Food: Everyone is on their own for Friday as I don't know when everyone will arrive. Dad and whoever will cook pancakes, eggs, etc. on Sunday morning. That will leave only two breakfasts on your own. Lunches will probably be out chasing around so keep that in mind when packing. Dinners will be together (Sat. & Sun). One will be dad's dutch oven chicken (probably could us a second oven) and the other will be Sloppy Joe's. We'll get the chicken and then each family will need to bring: 1# hamburger (precooked would be nice), buns, chips, salad (your choice), and any fresh fruit/veggies you want. (The salads will be used both nights.) My bunch will bring the chicken and condiments.
We are looking at 20 people or more. We're looking forward to having a great time with everyone.
