23 anos, 1,81, eleita a melhor modelo turca em 1999, Tugba Karaca é a aposta da Turquia para chegar novamente ao título de Miss Mundo.

Apesar de chegar às semifinais em 1961 e às finais em 1976, é nos anos 90 que a presença turca no Miss Mundo ganha destaque no Miss Mundo. As turcas foram semifinalistas em 1990 e 1991, além de um 5o. lugar em 1997, 3o. lugar em 2000 e finalmente a vitória ano passado com Azra Azkin.

Nesse ritmo, buscar o bi-campeonato não parece algo tão impensável.
