Subject: De olho no Miss Mundo 2003: Babett Konau, Miss Alemanha





Considerado um país de belas mulheres, a Alemanha não tem se destacado nos concursos internacionais nos últimos anos.

Antes do atual ostracismo, a Alemanha brilhou. Obteve o Miss Universo em 1961 com a estonteante Marlene Schmidt, além de várias finalistas e semifinalistas, especialmente até os anos 80. No Miss Beleza Internacional, vitória em 1965 e 1989 e várias posições de destaque.

No Miss Mundo, venceu em 1956(Petra Schurmann) e 1980(a polêmica Gabriella Brum renunciou no dia seguinte à eleição e foi substituída pela 2a. colocada, Kimberly Santos , Miss Guam).

Até 1980, a Alemanha teve ótimo desempenho no Miss Mundo:



semifinalistas - 1958, 1959, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1979.



finalistas - 1952(3o. lugar), 1954(5o. lugar), 1960(4o. lugar), 1967(7o. lugar), 1969 (3o. lugar), 1975(2o. lugar), 1977(3o. lugar).



Depois do escândalo Brum, nenhuma alemã chegou sequer às semifinais do Miss Mundo. Para alguns, apenas resultado da decadência dos concursos na Alemanha. Para outros, vendetta de Dona Morley. Seja como for, cabe a Babbet Konau tentar quebrar o encanto e resgatar a beleza alemã no Miss Mundo.
