Of anyone our age (10ish - 15, 16) to begin to flaunt things you have that others don't. I've seen it many times, and have myself been guilty of it many times. At this age, you're bigger and wiser than the little kids (not saying much, but still) but nowhere's near able to compete with adults. So you flaunt anything you can over those that are your own age. It's hard to resist doing. I guess this is basically what Tass is doing. I guess all of us (teens, myself included) periodically need to be reminded that there are bigger fish in the pond. I think that a reminder of this would be the best course. An email from Gabe, or pops, would prolly suffice. Perhaps also suggest that he, instead of flaunting his own membership, help GB and Kirby to change, provide a model, if you will, in order to regain their own. This'd give him a feeling of importance, which none of us can resist. :)
